The Devil can quote Scripture...

That man Pournelle does it again. Quoting Kipling's The Old Issue, and pointing out its relevance to the current situation. Or am I (again) misreading him?

In other news, beware of the spam from the "Worldwide Charity Fund" with its two "phone-in" polls on "GB is an appendage of USA and does not have its own political power in international scene" and "Should our military forces take part in war against Iraq , taking into account that fact that USA are able to use nuclear weapons". These may well be designed to appeal to folk who'd phone first and realise afterwards that they've just spent a lot more cash than they thought...

Time to complain to the Nice ICSTIS People, I think.

On the other hand, I shouldn't hold my breath:
What will happen next? Your complaint will now be investigated by a Case Officer. If it appears that a breach of our Code of Practice has occurred, the service provider will be asked to respond to the facts of the case. After this, the case will be adjudicated on by the ICSTIS Committee and, if a breach is found, a sanction may be considered. Depending on the complexity of the case and the priority it is allocated, it may take up to 12 weeks for us to report back to you with details about the outcome of our investigation
Plenty of time there for the spammers to make a killing....
